Below are some tips for a successful workplace campaign and a suggested format for a United Way presentation to your employees.
Tools for a Successful Workplace Campaign
Gain CEO and Manager Support
Start at the top. Get your management to lead by example and encourage employees to participate. Their involvement will help ensure success.
Form a Committee
Gather a group of co-workers from different departments, who can work out the details of the campaign before it begins. They can set goals and determine how the campaign will be conducted.
Add Incentives for Participation
Creatively reward employees who participate. Enter donors in a drawing, provide lunch to the leading department and always say thank you.
Engage the Employees
Find ways to get your employees involved, not only by giving, but also by advocating and volunteering. Consider offering employees one paid day a year to take action in the community.
Have Fun and Celebrate Successes
Plan fun events during your campaign that get everyone involved. Host a jeans day, bake sale or auction with proceeds going toward your campaign. Celebrate benchmarks until you reach your goal.
