Each spring, the Heartland United Way completes a community investment process, where community volunteers determine how campaign funds would be best allocated to the 16 United Way partner agencies. About 60 volunteers are needed to review funding requests from the partner agencies, visit agency sites, listen to agency presentations and make funding recommendations to the Heartland United Way Board of Directors.
If you live or work in Hall, Hamilton, Howard or Merrick counties, this is your opportunity to ensure that the dollars donated to the Heartland United Way are distributed to programs and services most appropriate for our communities. We need a varied group of people who represent a range of age groups, cultural backgrounds, employment statuses, etc.
To qualify, the volunteer must be a Heartland United Way donor. The volunteer must attend a one-hour training session and participate in a day-long evaluation of three agencies.
