Maria Vasquez is a California native. She moved to Grand Island in 2018 and worked for the Grand Island Public School district as a passionate educator for 6 years. She was the Family Connectedness Coordinator at Walnut Middle School, where she worked to inspire students and families to become more engaged in education. She also worked for the school district’s Migrant Education Program as the Elementary School Migrant Facilitator, assisting and proudly advocating for migrant students at Grand Island Public Schools to help ensure their academic success.
She is excited to be a part of the United Way team as the Community Relations Coordinator, and hopes to continue the efforts to strengthen the Grand Island Community.
