The World's Largest Totally Irrigated Working Farm Show plays host to a food drive that has collected more than 16,000 pounds of food in 2025. Donations are distributed to local backpack programs, food pantries, and shelters.
Collecting for the Heartland United Way’s 2026 Heartland United Way Food Drive will begin at grocery stores before the show.
Proteins like peanut butter, tuna and chicken as well as soup and stews are among the most needed food items.
The largest food collection happens during Husker Harvest Days, September 15th-17th. FFA students receive free entry into Husker Harvest Days with a minimum donation of five non-perishable food items.
