It is with deep gratitude that we celebrate a $1,802,863 annual campaign. Go Big GIVE 2024 had a great year raising $1,517,478 ! Together with Go Big GIVE, a total of $3,420,341 was raised in the Heartland. In addition, $31,550 of Community Impact Grants were awarded to programs in Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties to help support nonprofit organizations. Heartland United Way’s Mission: To improve lives and createpossibilities. Bold Goal: To mobilize communities to action soall can thrive.Our annual campaign raises funds to support local programs and services. We work with community leaders andCommunity Partners to improve the core issues of YouthOpportunity, Financial Security, Healthy Community andCommunity Resiliency. In 2024, the Heartland United Way andour Community Partners provided programs, services andresources to 42,112 people in our four-county coverage area. 2-1-1 COMMUNITY SERVICES HOTLINEIndividuals in all 93 Nebraska counties can dial 2-1-1 to easily accesslocal community service referrals 24 hours, seven days a week. In 2024there were 1,451 calls from Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties. Scoops IceCream Parlor had 248 volunteers give more than 931 hours to raise $74,856 for United Way and Community Partners!Imagination Bacon was a hog wild success, raising $45,087.

In 2024, United Way agencies providedopportunities for youth and adults tolearn and be successful in school and life. In 2024, 33,952 books were mailed to local childrenthrough the Imagination Library Program. 985 youth wereconnected to a caring adult through mentoring & scoutingprograms.United Way Community Partnerscreated youth opportunity for 13,439 kids.United Way Community Partners improvedfinancial security for 20,040 people.OPPORTUNITYFINANCIALSTABILITYThere are a growing number of people in our community who arestruggling to make ends meet. United Way agencies provide financialassistance and education to help families through crisis situations andto develop plans for moving forward. At the YMCA, 369 childrenlearned how to swim with no cost to the families. 470 individualsreceived legal advice and were served by Legal Aid. Through multipleUnited Way community partners, 654 individuals increased literacy,basic educational skills or English proficiency, which improved theirsocioeconomic status. United Way Community Partners served8,115 people to create a healthycommunity.HEALTHDolly Parton launched the Imagination Libraryprogram in 1996 because she wanted to makesure children have books in their homes,regardless of family income. This program sendsone brand new, age-appropriate book in the maileach month to an enrolled child until their fifthbirthday. Since 2013, the Heartland United Wayhas served 11,945 children and has graduated7,486 children from the program thanks togenerous donors. Imagination Bacon supports theprogram and will be held August 1, 2025, at FonnerPark. IMAGINATION LIBRARYRESILIENCYUnited Way CommunityPartners served 405 people incommunity resiliency.74 people received support from the AmericanRed Cross following disasters like home fires.
