People gather at a restaurant during Welcoming Week 2024.

GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA (September 4, 2025) The public will once again get a behind-the-scenes look at local businesses during Welcoming Week 2025.

This year’s theme, “Stories We Share,” invites neighbors to come together, exchange experiences, and discover how sharing stories strengthens connections across cultures and generations.

The Heartland United Way will host tours of diverse Grand Island businesses called the 4th Street Business Tour.  Each stop will feature welcoming shop owners who will showcase their unique products, share their journeys, and highlight what makes this neighborhood such a special place to explore.

In 2025, there will be a morning and night option.

  • AM Edition - September 15th from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
  • PM Edition - September 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Both tours are free and available for the first 25 participants, but you must register. To sign up, visit https://www.heartlandunitedway.org/welcoming-week.
