WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 7-9, 2025) In July, nearly 400 United Way leaders from 49 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, convened for United Way Worldwide's annual Advocacy Forum and Hill Day.
Heartland United Way President Karen Rathke was among them. They urged Congress to support United Way priorities that help families thrive.
Rathke and other Nebraska United Way leaders had the opportunity to talk with Senator Pete Ricketts, as well as the offices of Senator Deb Fischer, Congressman Adrian Smith and Congressman Mike Flood. They shared the opportunities and challenges facing our communities as well as the impact of legislation coming from Washington, D.C.
