Boy Scouts Soles4Souls Event

WHAT: The Overland Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America will host a shoe collection day for Soles4Souls on November 12, 2015. Local Scouts have been collecting pairs of shoes over the past month as part of a council-wide service project. Scouts are hoping to fill a trailer with collected shoes on November 12th. The shoes will then be transported for distribution in the United States and more than 120 countries.
WHY: Helping others is one of the fundamental values of Scouting and allows Scouts to see the value of contributing to their community. Collected shoes are distributed nationally and internationally in an effort to combat poverty.
WHO: Hundreds of Scouts are participating in the drive from the central Nebraska area. The Overland Trails Council is asking any individual or business who would like to clean out their closets to bring their new and/or used shoes to the Council Office to donate to Soles4Souls shoe drive.
