GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA (June 13, 2025) Dozens of volunteers are planning to spend the longest day of the year taking action, and there’s still time to sign up!

Day of Action is planned for June 20. Seventeen volunteer opportunities at 12 Heartland United Way community partner organizations are available.

Volunteers can help assemble Family Emergency Packets with the Multicultural Coalition and Literacy Council or lay carpet at Hope Harbor. For a full list of ways to take action, go to heartlandunitedway.org/day-action .

To kick the day off, Heartland United Way is inviting the community to stop by our office at 1441 N. Webb Road between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to see the latest changes inside and learn more about what we do. There will also be free swag, photo opportunities, and information about future volunteering. Registered volunteers for Day of Action can get fuel to make a difference with a $7 coupon to Donut NV or Holy Grounds, which will be set up shop in the parking lot.
