GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA (August 20, 2025) Nebraska State Fair-goers are encouraged to put some ice cream on their fair face with a stop at Scoops Ice Cream Parlor.
It’s the only place on the fairgrounds where volunteers choose where the proceeds go – choosing the Heartland United Way or one of our 20 partner agencies. Many of those community partners put on the cap and apron themselves to scoop for their cause.
Volunteers are still needed. Go to Go2Volunteer.org to sign up for a shift.
Volunteers logged nearly 800 hours, scooping 311 tubs of ice cream at last year’s Nebraska State Fair. In 2024, Scoops raised nearly $26,900 during the State Fair alone. The Parlor is also open during select shows on the Fonner Park grounds. This year the parlor features a new logo and new flavor among the 11 offered: cotton candy.
Every cup and cone goes to improve lives for individuals and families across Hall, Hamilton, Howard, and Merrick Counties by creating youth opportunity, financial security, healthy and resilient communities.
